2023上海-爱尔兰科克经贸科技交流会成功举办
为加强爱尔兰科克市与上海市在经贸、科技等领域的合作交流,5月25日下午,上海市外国投资促进中心与爱尔兰中国科学技术交流协会共同举办了“2023上海-爱尔兰科克经贸科技交流会”。活动得到了爱尔兰科克市政府、上海市外办的大力支持,邀请到了中国国际进口博览局、联合国工发组织上海投促中心、爱尔兰WrxFlo企业等代表作专题推介。本场活动吸引了来自爱尔兰贸易与科技局、上海爱尔兰商会、上海市新材料协会、上海市浦东软件园、复星国际等近50位参会嘉宾出席,我中心薛锋主任、孙昉副主任、中心驻法兰克福代表处董涛首席代表、中心驻伦敦办事处陆健首席代表等出席。现场对接了爱尔兰科学基金会-能源、气候和海洋研究中心找寻中国合作伙伴与爱尔兰三叶草绿色科技有限公司在沪选址等项目。
会议由爱尔兰中国科学技术交流协会会长陈文主持。爱尔兰科克市市长、市议员Deirdre Forde 女士为活动作视频致辞。上海市人民政府外事办公室二级巡视员与欧非处处长李春平现场致辞。
薛锋在致辞和主旨演讲中对爱中科协在疫情后率爱尔兰代表团到沪访问表示欢迎与感谢。他多角度、全方位介绍了上海城市的独特魅力和发展前景,希望两地加强在信息通信、生命健康、文化创意等领域的合作。他表示,上海市与科克市互为友好城市,欢迎爱尔兰和科克市企业来沪投资兴业,同时也将为本土企业赴爱尔兰投资提供帮助和支持。
在主旨推介环节,科克市政府发改委负责人Seamus Coghlan先生介绍科克市推出的新一轮(2022-2028)城市发展规划。他表示,科克市将进一步加快经济、文化和科技等方面建设,加大境内外人才引入力度,并将新增3.5万个工作岗位。未来,“科克2040愿景”将力争把科克市建设成为一座新兴的国际规模城市。
会上,中心与爱中科协续签了合作备忘录,双方将在信息通信技术、智慧环保节能、生命健康、智慧安防和文创教育等领域进一步加强合作,并利用“中国国际进口博览会”等国际化平台加深彼此交流。
To enhance cooperation and exchanges between Cork, Ireland, and Shanghai in the fields of economy, trade, and technology, the Shanghai Foreign Investment Promotion Center and the Ireland China Science and Technology Association jointly organized the “2023 Shanghai-Cork economic & technology exchange conference” on the afternoon of May 25th. The event received strong support from the Cork City Government and the Shanghai Foreign Affairs Office and featured specialized presentations from representatives such as the China International Import Expo Bureau, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization Shanghai Investment Promotion Center, and Irish company WrxFlo.
The event attracted nearly 50 attendees, including representatives from the Irish Trade and Technology Bureau, the Shanghai-Ireland Chamber of Commerce, the Shanghai New Materials Association, the Shanghai Pudong Software Park, and Fosun International. Director Xue Feng, Deputy Director Sun Fang, Chief Representative Dong Tao from the Frankfurt Office, and Chief Representative Lu Jian from the London Office of the Shanghai Foreign Investment Promotion Center were also in attendance. During the event, connections were made regarding projects such as the search for Chinese partners for the Irish Science Foundation for Energy, Climate, and Marine Research and the location selection in Shanghai for Irish company Shamrock Green Tech Limited.
The conference was presided over by Chen Wen, the President of the Ireland China Science and Technology Association. Deirdre Forde, the Mayor of Cork City Council, delivered a video speech for the event. Li Chunping, the Second-level Inspector of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government Foreign Affairs Office, and Director of the Europe and Africa Division, delivered speeches at the scene.
In his speech and keynote address, Xue Feng expressed his welcome and gratitude to the Ireland China Science and Technology Association for leading the Irish delegation’s visit to Shanghai after the pandemic. He provided a comprehensive introduction to the unique charm and development prospects of Shanghai from various perspectives and emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two cities in the fields of information and communication technology, life sciences and health, and cultural creativity. Xue Feng stated that Shanghai and Cork are friendly cities, and he welcomes Irish and Cork companies to invest and establish businesses in Shanghai while also providing assistance and support to local companies seeking investments in Ireland.
During the promotional session, Seamus Coghlan, the representative of the Cork City Government’s Development and Reform Commission, introduced the new round of (2022-2028) urban development plans launched by Cork City. He emphasized that Cork City will accelerate economic, cultural, and technological development, increase the introduction of domestic and foreign talents, and create 35,000 new job positions. In the future, the “Cork 2040 Vision” aims to develop Cork City into an emerging international-scale city.
During the conference, the center renewed the memorandum of cooperation with the Ireland China Science and Technology Association. Both parties will further strengthen cooperation in areas such as information and communication technology, smart environmental protection and energy conservation, life sciences and health, intelligent security, and creative education. They will also utilize international platforms such as the “China International Import Expo” to deepen mutual exchanges.
