Connecting a logistics fleet for real-time insights

This logistics company, ships parts for many industries and sectors across Ireland, the UK and Europe. Its team has over 100 years of combined experience and knowledge in freight forwarding, refrigerated and dry cargo, hazardous goods, transport, and import/export documentation.

The challenge

The client came to WrxFlo with the aim of offering a better service to their customers. They had two key management applications in place to run their business, one for order management and one for fleet tracking. Both systems ran daily, however, it was difficult to extract KPI data to measure performance, and both systems had to be updated manually. It was difficult to track a full order in one place and to update customers as to where their order was, at any given time.

WrxFlo connected both applications and created a suite of real-time metrics, presenting KPIs to the client to measure overall performance. This addressed any shortcomings in the previous system and allowed the client to address any issues in their process as they occured.

Real-time stock levels for a global logistics & distribution company

Our new client is a global leader in mobile accessories and technologies. They manufacture and distribute a range of products related to screen protection, power management, mobile keyboards, cases and personal audio equipment.

The company uses third-party logistic providers to manage and deliver products globally and the management team required daily visibility of stock levels and the value of stock across the business.

The challenge

Manually extracting data from 15 excel sheets, every month

The client had a system in place that heavily relied on extracting data from at least 15 excel sheets, CSV files and web applications. This was a manual process and extremely time-consuming.

Reports, KPIs and business insights were challenging to produce due to:

  • Multiple source data points
  • Multiple varied formats
  • Independent source data points that were not connected

For the client’s monthly reports, it took employees days to gather, extract and verify information, before collating this a in a presentable format. What was then circulated, was a snapshot of a point in time that was outdated by several days or weeks.

This system was very administration intensive and resulted in reports that were provided key business data but were outdated and lacked a deeper level of analytics and insights. Due to this, plans to implement a new ERP system were put on hold.

Accessing data securely from the cloud

All data available from one source

The logistics and distribution client now has an entire suite of data and insights into its stock valuations through one application. The WrxFlo platform has removed all manual steps from data collation, and the client can now analyse data and trends week on week and month on month.
